Meet Chicago artist & professional photographer Joe Pellegrini as he opens his art exhibit at my 45th Ward Office Thursday, July 26, 6–8 PM. Pellegrini is known for his Pop Art painting style, blending “a variety of stylistic influences from comic books, print advertisements, commercial packaging, and television cartoons.” Admission is free.
From my ward office, it’s a short walk up the street to Fischman’s Liquors, 4776 N. Milwaukee, for their Thursday evening food truck, craft beer, and live music happening. Food trucks and festivities kick off at 6 PM.
And if you’re in the mood for a longer stroll, check out the new sculpture installation at the former Knobe Stationer, 5415 W. Higgins, at Milwaukee Ave. The windows feature works by Chicago sculptors Michael Grucza & Terry Karpowicz.
