In February 2017, I unveiled a plan to address school overcrowding on the Northwest Side. A part of this plan was the allocation of $24 million for a new annex at Prussing Elementary. As of December 2018, construction is nearing its end, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony tentatively planned for January 2019. There will be ongoing improvements to the field once the building opens.
I am proud to usher in this much-needed classroom space to the Northwest Side. I am committed to continuing to work closely with CPS leadership and the new mayor to find ways to address this issue.
