Six-Corners Shopping District
Once, a thriving commercial shopping district, Six-corners is on it’s way back up to reclaim that title. Dubbed an “emerging theater district” by local media throughout Chicago, Six Corners offers a variety of entertainment venues and restaurants that will cap off a great day of shopping!
Take a look at the Six-Corners Master Plan for a guiding vision of economic growth and planned development on the NW side. This plan offers a blueprint on how we plan to revitalize the neighborhood shopping district and secure Six-Corners as an economic engine on the northwest side of Chicago.
You can step off from the Jefferson Park Transit Center and into authentic Chicago. Conveniently located halfway between O’Hare Airport and Downtown Chicago, Jefferson Park offers a wealth of culture, good eats and local watering holes that will surely introduce you to the ‘real’ City of Chicago. A neighborhood thriving with immigrants from all over the world, Jefferson Park boasts an eclectic variety of places to visit, eat and spend the day.
Small Business Improvement Funds
The City of Chicago has created several Tax Increment Financing Districts intended to spur renewal and development in business districts that have suffered decline in recent years. Small Business Improvement Funds (SBIF) are a set-aside for small businesses that exists in some TIF Districts. These funds can be used to build out a retail space, purchase permanent fixtures such as HVAC and plumbing or enhance a building façade, among other uses. For more information, you can contact Somercor link to http://www.somercor.com/sbif/sbif-info/ , a non-profit organization which administers the TIF program for the City of Chicago.
